4 Cylinder FWD Rules.  2019

RULE BOOK DISCLAIMER: The rules and/or regulations set forth herein are designed to provide for the orderly conduct of racing events and to establish minimum acceptable requirements for such events. These rules shall govern the condition of all events, and by participating in these events, all participants are deemed to have complied with these rules. Head TECH shall be empowered to permit any and all deviation from any of the specifications herein or impose any further restrictions to keep the competition close. Any interpretation or deviation of these rules is left to the discretion of the head TECH officials and their decision is final.

The FWD division is designed to promote a greater interest in Stock Car Competition and to enable DRIVERS to compete in their own class economically and to enable those to participate on a weekly basis. If not specified in the Rules, all parts must remain O.E.M for that year, make, and model & engine size.

Drivers:
1. Minimum Age for Drivers is 14 years old.
2. Driver’s must have official’s approval to be eligible to compete in the FWD Class.
3. Drivers under 18 must have parent’s consent form filled out prior to on track.

General Rules & Competing Models:
1. Sub Compacts: 1972 or newer.
2. Coupe, Sedan, or Station Wagon Car, ONLY ALLOWED.
3. American & Import, 4 Cylinder Front Wheel Drive Cars ONLY.
4. Maximum wheelbase is 110”. No Rear steer cars allowed.
5. NO all-wheel drive.
6. NO supercharge or turbocharger engines.
7. NO rear engine or mid-engine.
8. NO Two Seater’s or Convertibles.
9. VTEC engines allowed See weight rules

Bodies:
1. All O.E.M. sheet metal and panels must remain stock appearing ie factory lines unless stated otherwise in these rules. Must use factory quarters.
2. Firewall and OEM floorboard must remain intact. OEM Stock Frame with OEM Suspension
3. Inner wells may be removed.
4. Front and Rear Bumper Covers does not have to be OEM but must have covered bumpers
5. All doors must be secured, bolted, chained, or welded.
6. Hood Pins, Hood = 2 Pins in front part of hood, Trunk = 2 Pins Allowed. May keep OEM Hinges.
7. Front windshield may be Glass or Lexan that must mount securely in place. May have Vent Windows made of Lexan. Minimum 3 Bars in front of Driver with Full Face Helmet if no Windshield is ran.
8. May have Vent Windows made of Lexan.
9. Cars must have all upholstery, side glass, rear glass and trim removed.
10. You may fabricate a dashboard, starter button or switch is optional.
11. 12 volt Battery must be secured inside.
12. No battery in the trunk. Fabricated metal may go in place of where batteries leaked
13. Wheel base as per Tech’s discretion for tire clearance.
14. Tow Hooks or Chains to tow with are recommended and allowed.
15. Transponders are Mandatory when series/speedway feels the need for them.
16. Radios are ALLOWED.
17. Inner structures as follows: Hood, Trunk Lid, Roof, Doors REMOVAL PERMITED.
18. Stock O.E.M Lemans bar ALLOWED mounted equally left to right. Front & Rear hoop bars OK.
19. Car number must be at least 24″ tall on doors and roof. Car number (at least 6 ” tall) on upper corner of passenger side windshield.
20. Steel Fire Wall: Must be between the driver & the fuel tank & engine. Fuel Cell allowed.
21. Front and Rear Hoop Bars are allowed.

Engines:
1. All engines must be absolutely Stock OEM or OEM Stock replacements from TOP to oil pan for make and model. NO MODIFICATIONS! Engines must remain within manufacture.
2. You may remove accessories such as; A/C, Smog parts, PS, Heater Core etc.
3. NO High Performance Parts Allowed. Camshafts, Springs and Lifters must be Stock.
4. NO modifications to air cleaner element. K&N filters or paper filters allowed. Cool air inlet may be extended to front bumper not past leading edge
5. NO antifreeze, use of Water Wetter type products allowed, MADATORY.NO ANTIFREEZE
6. Compression checks will be done. All engines are allowed 10% above stock comp.
7. Driver’s: MUST have the tech manual or proof of the car they are racing.
8. Must show all OEM motor specs. Compression, bore, stroke, HP etc.
9. Not having this proof, you are subject to Immediate Disqualification.
10. Electric Fan’s ALLOWED and may be hot-wired to run constantly or can be put on a toggle switch in dash
11. OEM Stock Computer ONLY. Your make, model, yr, eng. size. OEM Ignition. All ECM (Electronic Control Module) and/or main processors must be O. E. M. and have the factory casting numbers in place on the unit. Aftermarket units are not permitted. The track reserves the right to exchange a unit with a track supplied unit at any time for any reason. Failure to do so may result in disqualification.
12. Engines may be bored a MAX. of .040 over, with stock..040 pistons ALLOWED. OEM Drive Train Location and Mounts
13. Factory Exhaust Manifolds or headers allowed. Pipe must come out behind driver. MANDATORY
14. Carburetor cars are allowed and can run OEM Stock Carb. .FWD cars ONLY
15. No additives are allowed in fuel.
17. Not required to buy track fuel, but will be check periodically.

Transmissions:
1. Stock O.E.M. from the manufacturer ONLY.
2. Manual shift transmissions must remain stock as from the manufacturer ONLY.
3. Stock O.E.M. clutch ONLY. Flywheel minus 10% factory weight.

Tires:
1. HOOSIER 790/800 Goodyear 2714 or Any 13”, 14”, 15″ and 16” DOT passenger type 300 tread wear of higher tire required.
2. NO tire treatment of any kind permitted
3. The driver is responsible for competing with the correct tires and wheels

Wheels:
1. No wheels over 7” wide. No Wheel spacers.
2. All four wheels must be the same size, width & offset on all 4 corners.
3. Alum OEM Wheels allowed not allowed at tracks larger than ½ mile.
4. 3 1/2” Max. offset per wheel ALLOWED..
5. Larger wheel studs ALLOWED.

Suspension:
1. Stock O.E.M. differentials ONLY.
2. Stock O.E.M. strut shocks ONLY.
3. Front Camber is No MAXIMUM. As long as holes are not slotted on top of strut
4. Rear camber is No MAXIMUM.
5. No Spring adj. Spring adj. must be welded or pinned
6. Springs: OEM, Junkyard or aftermarket allowed. Springs maybe cut. You may use spring rubbers or spring collapsers with a maximum of 2 per spring. Multiple spring rubbers allowed, must be zip tied in place. No Coilover spring adjusters. Springs may be heated.
7. Stock OEM Suspension parts. A Bolt Kit, Camber Adjusters, Adjustable Ball Joints or slotting of mounting holes in the Control Arms or Lower holes in the Struts by grinding ONLY. DO NOT alter the upper mounting points of the strut tower. OEM Sway may be locked. Sway Bar must be stock.
8. Ride Height: Nose, Rockers & Frame is 5″ Min. Ht. w/ driver in race trim. At pivot point on Left Front lower control arm.
9. NO Traction Control.

Weight:
. Please make sure you read The ENGINE RULES. This is what you claim for your car. Make, Model, Year, Engine. Have factory advertised engine size in HP to be located at the base of the driver’s windshield or on the hood, so tech can read it when you roll on to the scales, MANDATORY. You must have proof that the engine you are using in your race car now, came in your car from the factory O.E.M.

We will use Weight to HP Ratio.

129 and below – no minimum weight or left side % rules

130 – 139 – 2200lbs Min Total Wt. 55% Left Side Wt. Max

140 – 149 – 2300lbs Min Total Wt. 55% Left Side Wt. Max

150 – 159 – 2400lbs Min Total Wt. 55% Left Side Wt. Max

160 – 169 – 2500lbs Min Total Wt. 55% Left Side Wt. Max

170 – 179 – 2600lbs Min Total Wt. 55% Left Side Wt. Max

180 – More – 2700lbs Min Total Wt. 53% Left Side Wt. Max

Fabricated Body Cars Max 53% left side.

4. All Lead Weight will be double bolted with grade 8 or higher bolts. (Nylon Lock nuts and 1 ½” fender Washers required) All lead weight must be mounted in a safe location and approved by track tech. All lead must be painted a bright color and numbered with car number. Lead that comes free from the race car may result in fines or penalties to the driver

SAFETY IS FIRST AND FORMOST
1. All Drivers must have a Helmet when on the race track. A Snell 95 or better is recommended
2. A flame retardant driving suit & gloves
3. 4 Point seatbelt harness with SFI tag. Roll Bar Padding within reach of Driver
4. Approved Racing Seat and Window net mounted to be acceptable by tech officials.
5. Roll cage, constructed of 1 1/2″ tubular steel x .095 minimum wall thickness.
6. Driver side 3 bar’s, Passenger side 2 bar’s MANDATORY.
7. 1/8” Plate to be welded to the outside of the driver’s door bar’s so nothing can get to you is recommended.
8. 2 1/2 lb fire extinguisher with a dial must be located within reach of driver. Must be in the green.
9. Approved Window Net.
10. 12 Gal. or less Fuel Cell centered in the trunk area with fire wall between the driver ALLOWED. Must be approved by tech official. May use Stock tank if ahead of rear axle
11. All added weigh must painted white w/ # on it MANDATORY.
12. Quick release steering wheel ALLOWED. Aftermarket Gas, Brake, and Clutch pedal allowed for safety
13. NO air bag’s or steering wheel lock’s. All 4 wheel brakes must work. No welding of cast metals
14. 1 rear view mirror. 1 side mirror ALLOWED.
15. Kill switch may be located in the center of dash, center of roll bars for Safety crews to easily reach in case of emergency is recommended.
16. Will allow 25 LBS weight break for Head and Neck Restraint and 25 LBS weight break for Full Containment Seat.

AMMENDMENTS:
1. These rules are subject to amendments for competition when ample notice has been given by the series.
2. Tack officials may use professional judgment for any infractions for a competitive race program.
3. The car/cars that do not conform to any of the above rules may also be required to add weight at the Tech man discretion. His decision is FINAL! Tech reserves the right to add or move weight percentages at any time. In fairness of competition, multiple winners may receive left side weight % adjustments as directed by Tech Official.

We are going to put the “STOCK” back into Stock Car Racing. If you don’t see it in the rules or specifications… DO NOT DO IT
